Win Bigly — Scott Adams
I read a lot of books about getting things done. Most of them are full of theory from people who’ve never actually tried anything. Scott Adams is different — he tried, failed, tried again, and ended up creating Dilbert, one of the most successful cartoons in history.
The quote in Just Start — “just put on your running shoes” — comes from this book. The idea is that the hardest part of any new habit is the first two seconds. Lower the barrier so low you can’t fail to cross it, then cross it. That one idea changed how I approach everything, not just exercise.
What the book covers:
- Why passion is overrated and energy is everything
- The systems approach vs. goal-setting
- How to arrange your life so luck finds you
- Why “put on your running shoes” is better than any 12-week plan
